Stones KIA puts on successful Children’s Safety Expo
Summertime is trauma season for kids. The CDC says hospitals see on average of 170 youth emergency room visits a month between May and September. From water awareness to bike safety, now is the time to start thinking prevention.
Saturday was the very first year Stones KIA put on its Children Safety Expo — and it was a very creative way to teach kids multiple safety tips in one setting.
There were 14 different safety stations the kids could go to. The kids registered were then encouraged to go to every station and get a prize for completing whatever they had to do at each station.
“The number main one is bicycle safety that headed up by Idaho City Police. We have the fire department for fire safety, the paramedics for emergency safety. And the other vendors, we have Broulim’s for health safety and eating good food,” said Christine Campbell, Stone KIA’s internet and commercial sales manager.
What was also cool about this, was that Stones KIA put the event on in their new parking lot that was just built about a week or two ago. Stones KIA doesn’t even have cars stocked at the new facility yet, but it opened up for a great cause to make sure we can keep our kids safe.
Stones KIA plans on making this an annual event, and the new location’s grand opening is set to be in July.
