Several people arrested after eastern Idaho search warrant sweep
Law enforcement officials throughout eastern Idaho served five search warrants in Ririe, Idaho Falls, and Bingham County Wednesday, July 12. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Fica said authorities were seeking evidence of illegal criminal activity, specifically narcotics. Idaho State Police said the persons associated with the warrants and locations have been under investigation for the illegal use and distribution of drugs, especially methamphetamine. At this time, he said several persons were arrested and are being criminally processed in state or the local courts in which they were arrested. That could change as the investigation progresses. Agencies participating in the sweep included the Bonneville, Bannock, Fremont, Madison, Jefferson, and Bingham County Sheriff’s Departments, Idaho Falls, and Blackfoot Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Fica would not comment on the individuals arrested or about any evidence the search warrants produced. He said it is all part of an ongoing investigation.
