Snake River High School wins wastewater planning grant
Snake River High School has been awarded a wastewater planning grant.
The $37,500 grant from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality will be used to prepare a planning study and environmental review. The total eligible cost of the project is $75,000 and the remaining $37,500 will be funded by the high school.
The project will evaluate the current wastewater system and identify needed improvements.
The Snake River School District is asking voters to approve a ten-year, $750,000 per year plant facility levy at the polls in March.
Superintendent Dave Kerns said the levy includes additional funding to, in part, replace a septic system failure at the junior high school. The district hopes to connect the building to Blackfoot’s sewer system instead.
