IDFG to temporarily shut down licensing system

If you are planning to purchase a license, tag or permit between 11 p.m. on Feb. 28 and noon on March 1, you’ll need to change your plans.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game’s licensing system will temporarily shut down at 11 p.m. on Feb. 28 until a new licensing system can go live around noon on March 1.

While the system is down, no licenses, tags or permits will be issued.

This is IDFG’s first change in its license-sales contractor since 2007. New contractor JMT currently serves other fish and wildlife agencies in Washington, West Virginia and Maryland.

The rollout of the new license-sales system coincides with the March 1 deadline for turkey controlled hunt applications. Officials encourage hunters to apply before the deadline.

IDFG sells approximately 1.9 million licenses, tags and controlled hunt applications annually.
