Attorney General discusses the rule of law
Idaho Attorney General, Lawrence Wasden, stopped by our studio earlier today.
He discussed the rule of law, that’s when every person is subject to the law, including people who are lawmakers, law enforcement, and judges. Otherwise it would be an autocracy, dictatorship, or oligarchy where the rulers are held above the law.
Wadsen says the public shouldn’t impose their own views on what law should be.
“The Constitution means something, the statutes means something and we apply them across the board,” Wasden said. “If we don’t like what they say we have a process for changing it, but what you don’t get to do is simply ignore it and that applies to everyone. It applies to the President of the United States. It applies to everyone else as well.”
Wasden says this concept separates us from the rest of the world.
