Inergy Solar to move to Bannock Development incubation center
Bannock Development announced Thursday that Inergy Solar will move into its incubation building at 850 5th Street in Pocatello.
Inergy Solar designs and manufactures battery powered electrical supply and backup systems for mobile, recreational, and home applications. It will use the new facility to grow production of its next generation of battery-powered electrical supply systems.
“Our innovations are revolutionizing the industry and will provide access to electric power in locations where it has never been,” said Inergy President Brad Barrott.
The Pocatello Development Authority assisted the expansion by providing $25,000 of building improvements to help the company grow its new product line.
Mayor Brian Blad said the project will create at least 10 new positions. The company already has 18 employees at its Chubbuck facility. “I am glad that we can help a technology company develop its market for innovative new products. This is the kind of growth we are looking for,” said Blad.
Inergy CEO Sean Luangrath says that with investors and community support the company plans to become a billion dollar industry. “Our integration of computer technology and the best components available will create even higher performing power systems at less than half the weight,” said Luangrath.
Inergy was founded in 2012. It won 1st Place at Google’s Startup Grind Pitch Event and Consumer Product and Early Stage Innovation of the Year at the Idaho Innovation Awards. The company received an Idaho GEM grant to conduct research in conjunction with the University of Idaho.
