Gun fire leads to two arrests in Preston

Two persons were arrested Thursday after gun shots were reported shortly after 8 p.m. in Preston.

Police Chief Mike Peterson said officers were called to 197 South 300 East after several 911 calls. People reported they heard yelling and at least one gun shot in the area.

Officers confronted Bret Stanley Hansen, 45, when they arrived on the scene. Police confirmed no one had been injured by the gun shot.

Another subject, identified as BreAnn Choules, 34, of Preston was also arrested.

Hansen was being held in the Cache County Jail, charged with 3 counts of felony aggravated assault, 2 counts of felony aggravated battery, and 1 misdemeanor count of discharging a firearm within city limits.

Choules was arrested on one count of misdemeanor battery.

No further information was released.

The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the case.
