Fire Weather Warning for southeast areas

Moisture and heat give us an additional day for scattered thunderstorms into the southeastern highlands, including Pocatello and American Falls Reservoir. Hail and downburst with sudden showers and lightning all possible with these afternoon storms. Salmon has the chance for storms as well.

Highs today will be in the mid to upper 90's for Pocatello and Salmon, lower valley areas, Idaho Falls in the low 90's at 92. Jackson will be in mid 80's. Lows in the upper 40's to upper 50's. Winds SW 10-20+ and gustier around storms.

Temperatures will remain hot with a gradual increase by Sunday into the mid to upper 90's, 98 in Pocatello. Then a cool wave takes temps down a few degrees Monday with highs back to the lower 90's.

Fire weather warning for southeastern highlands from the Palisades to eastern Magic Valley through 9pm tonight.
