Toddler found dead in Salmon River
The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a two-year-old child found floating in the Salmon River at approximately 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies were called by a 911 call to the Elk Bend area and informed the child was unresponsive and not breathing.
Salmon Ambulance, Elk Bend QR, and Elk Bend Fire personnel responded to the scene.
The child was declared dead at the scene. It was determined that the child was a resident of the area.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office.
