Frank VanderSloot breaks world record, will not retire as CEO
Frank VanderSloot is well known for being the CEO of Melaleuca, a successful multi-billion dollar company, but today he has another title added to that – a world record holder in rowing.
Tuesday with hundreds of Melaleuca employees cheering him on, he broke the world record for 70-year-olds in the 100-meter row on a concept two rowing machine.
Each machine connects to a massive worldwide database. With a time of 14-point-four seconds, VanderSloot smashed the previous record of 15-point-three seconds.
VanderSloot admits this was a bit of a publicity stunt on his 70th birthday because he credits much of his success to the Melaleuca Peak Performance Pack of nutritional supplements.
He says it reduces the effects of aging.
Last week, he said if he didn’t break the record today, it would show his confidence in the product was misplaced and he would resign as CEO, but now he says he plans to stick around for another ten years.
