Portneuf library’s new Safari Exhibit

Kids will have the opportunity to get ‘handsy’ at a local library. This week marks the 8th annual Sensory Safari exhibit at the Portneuf Library in Chubbuck. For the next month, mounted taxidermy animals are on display throughout the library free to touch and feel the actually fur of the animal. They have everything from indigenous mountain goats to African lions and zebras as well as a 15 foot long nile crocodile.

“It definitely brings in a lot of people, its a huge draw. We have people ask us every year, ‘when are the animals coming back?’ So we call the representatives and they bring them back. It’s become a fun tradition. Families really enjoy it.”

There are over 30 animals out on display for people for the public. The exhibit was provided by the safari club international.
