ISU VP Van der Schyf set to retire

After a 35-year career, Idaho State University Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School Cornelius J. Van der Schyf will retire December 29.

Van der Schyf said he was looking forward to traveling with his wife.

“It has been my great pleasure and privilege to have proudly served Idaho State for more than five years,” Van der Schyf said. “Tosca and I are excited to start a new chapter in our lives, but I am also sad to see this one end. We have become true members of this wonderful Bengal family.”

Before joining ISU in May 2013, Van der Schyf was founding chair and professor of pharmaceutical sciences and a professor of neurobiology at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

ISU President Kevin Satterlee said, “Dr. Van der Schyf is a renowned researcher and academic whose skills have benefited ISU greatly. His service and dedication to Idaho State will be missed.”

The university is evaluating its next steps towards filling the vacancy.
