D93 releases potential middle school names

The Bonneville School Board sifted through thousands of suggested potential names for a new middle school to be built next to the new Thunder Ridge High School Wednesday night before settling on 10.

The 10 names will be sent out to the public in the form of a survey. Here they are:

Wolverine Middle School Fire Canyon Middle School Black Canyon Middle School Olympus Middle School Helios Middle School Lightning Hills Middle School Ridgeview Middle School Canyon View Middle School Lightning Valley Middle School Legacy Middle School

The naming committee will review those names and any others the public may suggest at their next meeting Thursday, September 13.

The board will also begin to review potential mascots and colors for the school, which will be the subject of another survey.

The board expects to select a name from a top-three at its October board meeting.
