Local business raises money for first responders

Paul Davis Restoration of Idaho and Paul Davis Cares is holding its the fifth annual 9/11 Fallen Heroes Memorial Tribute 5K/10K run and one mile walk Saturday.

The race will be at Snake River Landing and start at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

There will also be a children’s firefighter challenge course, smoke trailer simulation, and demonstrations of firefighting equipment, ladder trucks and more.

Many police departments will show off equipment they use. Additionally, life flight will have a helicopter available for viewing.

“In addition to honoring the 403 first responders that died on 9/11,” said Kristie Jensen, the marketing director for Paul Davis Restoration of Idaho. “I think its important to honor those who have lost their lives since some as a result from 9/11 and some as a result of being in the line of duty and those that continue to sacrifice everyday out there protecting our community.”

Since its first race, “9/11 Fallen Heroes Memorial Tribute Walk and Run” events has raised more than $60,000 for local first responder organizations.
