MADRID (AP) — Gibraltar says some heavy fuel continues to seep from a damaged and partly sunken bulk carrier ship off its shore. The government says that despite Thursday’s efforts to halt a slick, smaller amounts were still leaking Friday. The government says there are reports of small numbers of oil-covered birds but every effort is being made to minimize harmful effects. Crews have begun extracting some the 180 tons of sulfur fuel still on board the vessel that collided with another ship earlier this week.
