Fort Hall man indicted for assault resulting in serious injury
U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis reports a 23-year-old Fort Hall man was indicted Monday on one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
The indictment alleges that on or about Sept. 2, 2018, Stormy Ray Adakai assaulted a victim by intentionally hitting him in the face and head with rocks, resulting in serious bodily injury.
The charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release.
This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Hall Police Department.
An indictment is a means of charging a person with criminal activity. It is not evidence. The person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
