Teton County death investigation continues

Investigation into the death of Jeffery Archer, 69, in Teton County, Wyoming is continuing.

The Teton County Sheriff and Coroner’s Offices said Archer apparently died of natural causes. His body was found in his home on November 21. Authorities believe 5 dogs, also found dead in the home, probably died from dehydration.

A sixth dog was discovered in follow-up investigation, but the Sheriff’s Office said that dog had probably been dead for as much as a year.

The home was condemned by the Teton County Health Department as a public health hazard.

Another dog was rescued from the home. The Sheriff’s Office said she is recovering and has been released from the Spring Creek Animal Hospital.

Foster care for the dog has been arranged until legal ownership is established. A fund for donations has been established to help pay for her treatment. If you’d like to help, call 307-733-1606.
