Rose interchange traffic delays begin Friday
Idaho Transportation Department construction crews will move large concrete structures into the median as part of an interchange reconstruction project at the Rose Road (Exit 98) Interchange on Interstate 15 Friday. The work will continue into next week.
ITD said the sections will be moved onto I-15 between midnight and 5:30 a.m. A pilot car will be used to slow traffic through the area. Motorists can expect delays of about 15 minutes while the sections are moved. There will be a message board to alert southbound travelers of traffic conditions.
“We are asking that motorists be patient during these overnight traffic delays. Safety continues to be our first priority,” said ITD Resident Engineer Eric Staats.
The work is part of a year-long project to reconstruct the Rose Road interchange. The work will include widening the overpass and increasing its vertical clearance. It will also reconfigure and lengthen the interchange ramps and replace two canal structures to support current traffic loads.
The $10.8 million project should be completed by late 2019.
