Oregon woman arrested for Montpelier bomb threat
Montpelier Police say life is back to normal after an early-morning bomb threat.
Chief Russell Roper said an e-mail bomb threat was received at around 8 a.m. Wednesday at the National Oregon/California Trail Center, threatening both a bomb and a person with a gun.
All city schools, including Bear Lake High School, Bear Lake Middle School and A.J. Winters Elementary School were placed into a “shelter in place” order as a precaution. Classes were already underway.
Roper said police traced the threat to a mentally unstable female in Bend, Oregon. She had sent similar threats to several locations in western states. The woman is now under police custody.
