Breaking Boundaries brings after-school activities to students

Breaking Boundaries in Idaho Falls and Bonneville School District 93 have teamed up to create an after-school program for kids at Falls Valley Elementary School.

Breaking Boundaries gave a grant to the school to involve some of the students to some after school activities.

The kids participated in programs like computer science, making cupcakes, create arts and crafts and more.

Teachers involved in the program say that getting kids more involved has helped students stay focused in the classrooms.

“These students are staying in their classrooms, they are working, they’re learning new things, they’re thriving and so it’s a made a big difference,” said Sarah Hendry, a third-grade teacher at Falls Valley Elementary School. “I can pick out a few of them who have really just blossomed.”

Breaking Boundaries said they gave the grant because they serve the underserved in the community.

Thursday was the last day of the the second trimester’s program. The school hopes to be able to do this program again next trimester.
