Ferrell’s sign taken down
A piece of downtown Idaho Falls history came down Friday. The iconic Ferrell’s sign was removed by Apollo Construction.
T he 114 year old building was bought by 100 Proof Properties which is renovating several historic downtown buildings.
Ferrell ‘ s has been there since 1950. The new owners don’t have a new tenant yet.
They plan to restore the building back to its original beauty first.
They’ve stripped the facade that was there.
“Underneath is the original rock, basalt brick exterior and we’re going to open that up, replace all the old windows and recreate it to reflect the original construction.” Tasha Taylor with 100 Proof said.
“You’ve got multi levels,” Jayce Howell with 100 Proof said. “You could have a stage. You could have offices up on top. You could have penthouse condos.”
Ferrell ‘ s clothing has moved to the former David ‘ s Bridal on Hitt Road next to Kiwi Loco.
