Blackfoot Animal Shelter and Rescue becomes independent non-profit shelter
The Blackfoot Animal Shelter and Rescue (BASR) is now an independent non-profit shelter.
This was discussed and voted on at Tuesday night’s City of Blackfoot City Council Meeting.
The BASR will be focused on animal welfare and able to attract new investments and grants that are needed to support the BASR mission statement.
The Snake River Animal Shelter will continue to partner with the BASR by helping to transfer animals, partnering in projects, and providing Humane Education to the community.
The City of Blackfoot has stated they appreciate the mentoring role that has been adopted by the Snake River Animal Shelter and look forward to continuing this outstanding relationship.
Blackfoot Animal Shelter and Rescue will remain in its current location, on Frontage Road in Blackfoot, until funds are raised for expansion and construction of a new animal sheltering facility.
