Oregon Trail Center to honor veterans
The National Oregon/California Trail Center Museum in Montpelier, Idaho plans to honor veterans Friday and Saturday with a special ceremony and other events.
The entire weekend is centered around veteran’s appreciation. Friday at 10 a.m. is a special flag ceremony honoring veterans. Then at from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. is the Living History event in the Wells C. Stock Park next to the center. The community will be able to visit with members of the 11th Ohio Calvary and the National Guard. In fact, four generations of veterans will be represented.
Then Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the Living History event in the park once again.
Both Friday and Saturday veterans and their families can attend the Living History tour for free with military identification. Non-veterans and other visitors get 25% off the regular tour price.

This event leads up to the Bear Lake County Fair held at the fairgrounds north of the Oregon Trail Center on Highway 30 from Aug. 12 through Aug. 17.
