BYU-Idaho Brings In Car Rental Service
Getting to the grocery store will become a lot easier this fall for BYU-Idaho students without a car.
The university is partnering up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in providing cars to students who need a lift.
The WeCar is one of many car rental programs gaining popularity on college campuses across the country.
Students will be able to rent a car for a short time for a small cost.
By providing a way for students to get around town, the director of purchasing and travel for the university, Darin Lee, said it can also reduce parking congestion.
?Part of the benefit to doing the program is to make parking more available to students and utilize the car sharing program, which brings about opportunities to have a car, have flexibility with the car, and still leave a car at home and reduce those costs,? Lee said.
Insurance and gas are covered in the cost of the rental.
The university will have two cars in the program this coming semester, and school officials said it will add more as the program gains in popularity.
