Train Clips Woman’s Car

A woman from Irwin, Idaho, tested fate Tuesday when she tried to beat a train near Ririe.

Idaho State Police say the woman was driving a 2007 Ford Edge east on US 26 when she didn’t stop at a railroad crossing. According to ISP the railroad crossing lights were flashing. The woman tried to brake, then tried to accelerate over the tracks.

The train hit the right side of her car, causing some minor damage.

The woman told ISP she was using her cellphone just before the crash. She was unhurt
