First Soldier Of 116th Cavalry Returns Home

Tuesday was an exciting day in Idaho Falls as the first soldier from the 116th Cavalry Brigade returned home from his second deployment in Iraq.

Everyone at the Idaho Falls airport cheered as Sgt. 1st Class Bill Russell from Rigby came down the escalator and through the doors.

After a big hug from his granddaughter he greeted his family.

The times are not scheduled yet for the rest of the 116th Unit to come home, but they are expected anytime within the next month.

“I know their families are sitting there waiting by the phone excited for that phone call to know that they’re coming,” said Redep. NCOIC Tyson Bergerson.
