EICAP Moves Into New Building
Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership, or EICAP, has a new building to call home, and one that will actually save them money in the long run.
A remodel of the 25,000-square-foot Lincoln Road building started in January.
For the first time in EICAP’s 40-year history, every program will be under the same roof, including two Head Start classrooms and a new playground.
It will eventually be certified as “energy efficient,” saving electricity and money by using less water on the grounds and adjustable light settings inside.
“One of the things we try and teach our clients is to be energy efficient. That way way, they have more disposable income, and so we thought we needed to set the example,” said executive director Russ Spain.
EICAP will host a ribbon cutting for the new building on Thursday, Sept. 8, along with a flag raising and open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
