3 Seriously Injured In Utah Helicopter Crash

Authorities are crediting bystanders with saving the lives of three people who were seriously injured when the helicopter they were riding crashed in Heber City.

The Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune report Suzanne Tanner of Heber City, her 15-year-old son and pilot Ken Heidorn were rushed to hospitals after the crash Saturday afternoon.

Wasatch County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jared Rigby says the crash occurred near the end of a 12-minute flight offered for a fee at an air show at the Heber City airport.

After the helicopter crashed in a vacant lot, a group of bystanders lifted the helicopter off the teenage boy and removed Tanner and Heidorn from the wreckage. The boy had been pinned under it.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA.
