Sheriff: Man Ties After Parachute Malfunction

Authorities say a 38-year-old man fell to his death after his parachute failed to fully deploy.

The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office tells KTVB-TV http://bit.ly/pX0SSu that the Alabama man died Saturday morning after his parachute only partially deployed while base jumping off of the Perrine Bridge.

Boaters were able to pull the man from the Snake River within minutes and attempted life saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The office says his name is being withheld until his family is notified.
