Special Olympics Idaho Cancels State Winter Games

Due to the mild winter, Special Olympics Idaho has canceled its annual State Winter Games.

The games were to be held in Valley County on March 2 through 4. More than 330 athletes and 175 volunteers normally participate, according to a news release.

Although snow sports, such as snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and alpine skiing, were canceled, Special Olympics Idaho is trying to make arrangements for a floor hockey competition in the Boise area on March 3.

Volunteer opportunities will still be available. See www.idso.org for more information.
