Rupert Man, 3-Year-Old Daughter Missing

Minidoka County officials are searching for a Rupert man and his 3-year-old daughter who are missing after reporting vehicle problems in south-central Idaho.

Sheriff Kevin Halverson said the two were last seen at 4 p.m. Thursday. The man called relatives via cellphone at about 6:30 p.m. and said he and his daughter had left their vehicle. The vehicle had not been located Friday morning.

Deputies and search and rescue teams from Minidoka, Blaine, Lincoln and Jerome counties were called in to help with the search in the desert near Kimama.

Helicopters were to join the search Friday.
