Recall Petition Circulates For Blackfoot School Board Member

A group of concerned citizens has filed a petition in Bingham County to recall Blackfoot school board member Peter Lipovac.

Prosecutor Scott Andrew said the group turned in 20 verified signatures Tuesday claiming Lipovac violated policy when he attended a New Mexico conference and had the district pay without permission.

Andrew said some are also disgruntled by Lipovac’s involvement with a proposed Fort Hall charter school.

The group has 60 days to collect verified signatures from at least 50 percent of voters who participated in the last election for Lipovac’s zone.
