Wolf Hunt Bill Dies In Senate
A bill that would allow Idaho ranchers to use helicopters and live-bait traps to hunt wolves has died in the Senate.
This comes after legislators acknowledged the bill could risk putting wolves back on the federal endangered species list.
Senators sent the bill back to the Resources and Environment Committee Tuesday where it is expected to die.
The bill’s lead sponsor, Sen. Jeff Siddoway, R-Terreton, still defended the controversial legislation.
As a sheep rancher, Siddoway said wolves are killing his livestock.
