PMC Reopens Surgery Center
The Portneuf Medical Center is celebrating its one year anniversary this week, and part of that includes reopening the off-campus site of the Rocky Mountain Surgery Center.
When the new hospital was built, the center was made a part of the campus. But surgeons, looking to maintain efficiency, wanted the ability to do outpatient work again. Patients also wanted the ability to go to an out-patient site rather than the hospital, so they reopened the offices on North 18th Avenue.
Dr. Craig McGee has been a physician for 32 years and said this will save patients and insurance companies money.
“They were gracious enough to reopen this as an interim solution to again bring patients that efficiency and homey-ness that you get with a surgery center, rather than the big mega-facility on the hill,” McGee said.
The hospital is projecting that patients will be able to make appointments by June 1.
