Brandon Pearson

Butte County High School senior, Brandon Pearson, is smart, athletic, a natural leader, and not afraid to learn new skills. Those qualities helped him win the United Dairymen of Idaho Distinguished Student Award.

Everyone at butte the high school knows Brandon, and with a student body of about 140 students, Brandon knows all of them too. He is happy being part of a small high school.

“I definitely like it,? Brandon says. ?I think it’s opened up a lot of opportunities for me.”

Brandon could have showed off his sports skills when we visited him at the school. After all, he is on the football, basketball and track teams, but he wanted to show us one of his more challenging accomplishments – his quilt.

“That was nerve-racking,? Brandon says. ?I play sports and everything and I was nervous to sew, because I had no idea what I was doing ,and Miss Holly’s sitting over me and helping me through the whole thing, and it’s been extremely interesting and so satisfying to finally see a finished product.”

Brandon is senior class president. He is currently planning a project to paint 2012 to the rock cliffs next to town. He has a perfect 4.0 GPA and plans to go to medical school. But what Brandon may be best remembered for at Butte County High School is his ability to be a natural helper and friend to everyone, especially those in need.

“They’re going through a hard time and I want to be there for them,? Brandon says. ?A lot of people think they?re alone and I want them to know I’m there for them to help them out, and that they can always come to me for help.”
