Sirens Throughout Teton County, Wyo., Go Off Accidentally
Sirens throughout Teton County, Wyo, sounded when they were accidentally triggered Thursday afternoon.
“During testing of our radio console equipment, tones were sent out that accidentally triggered siren activation county wide,” said Rich Ochs, the county’s emergency management coordinator, in an email. “Emergency Management apologizes for any confusion that this may have caused.”
Ochs said that if it were a real emergency, county sirens would go off for three minutes.
“At (that) point, we would ask citizens in the county and town (of Jackson) to tune to local radio stations, local TV and NOAA All-Hazards Weather Radio for further information,” Ochs said.
