Brittany Vance
The school year is winding down and for high school seniors it’s a time to reflect on their accomplishments of the last several years.
One graduate who has accomplished a lot is Idaho Falls High School senior, Brittany Vance. Her accomplishments in sports, music and academics have earned her the honor of United Dairymen of Idaho Distinguished Student.
For the last five years Brittany Vance has been playing the harp.
“It’s a really beautiful instrument and you can make just about anything sound beautiful on it,” Brittany says.
Brittany loves music so much she eagerly gets up early in the morning to practice. She needs to get that done before school because after school she’s involved in sports activities like cross-country – one of her favorite extracurricular activities.
“We have a close-knit team,? Brittany says. ?Everybody gets so close because you endure a whole lot of pain from running.”
Brittany is not only talented at the harp – she’s been playing piano for ten years.
“It’s a lot of fun to play really loud which you can’t really do on the harp,? Brittany says. ?You can add a lot of percussion on the lower notes on piano and it’s a lot of fun to do that.”
Brittany has a 4.170 G-P-A. She says the secret of academic success has been simple for her.
“Hard work,? Brittany says. ?I did my homework every night.?
Finally, Brittany will fondly remember one more high school experience – being a peer counselor each week at an elementary school.
“We have a buddy who’s just a little kid who is lonely or just not doing well in school, and so you kind of take them under your wing and play games with them and help them with their school work, and it’s really fun,” Brittany says.
