If you thought facelifts were only for faces, not so fast. Buildings in eight eastern Idaho cities are getting spruced up as part of the first “Operation Facelift.”

Idaho Falls held a community rally Thursday afternoon, where Mayor Jared Fuhriman announced a proclamation in support of the project.

Fuhriman said the 12-day community project will promote and show the city’s true spirit.

The other cities participating range from Aberdeen to Salmon.

Grow Idaho Falls leaders said one building in each will be named a winner, then go on to compete for the overall title of “Most Improved” downtown area.
