Bonneville Dist. 93 Approves Bids For New Elem. School, Roof For Middle School

Bonneville District 93 board members met in Ammon on Wednesday to review winning bids for a brand new elementary school and a new roof for Sand Creek Middle School.

The winning bid to build a new elementary school at the Grove Creek subdivision near bonneville high school came from Headwaters construction and will cost about $7.8 million dollars.

Sand Creek’s new roof will cost about $600,000.

Smith Construction will provide about $300,000 dollars worth of labor with their winning bid.

“The price that we got on this bid is a little higher than we did in 2009,” said board member Roger Hill. “It’s the same exact building, probably spending about a million dollars more.”

The board said elementary schools built during historical area construction booms have cost considerably more than the current bid.
