Man faces multiple charges after series of crashes
A 28-year-old Pocatello man faces numerous charges after police said he caused multiple collisions in downtown Pocatello within a 15-minute period Monday morning.
Pocatello police said it started around 8:30 a.m., when Ernesto Gabriel Galvan hit a stop sign and then left the scene. They said he then ran into another car and left that scene and afterwards got into another accident at Main Street and Benton. At that time, several bystanders tried to prevent him from leaving the scene, but police said Galvan struck their cars as well.
After attempting to flee on foot, Galvan was stopped and held by a private citizen until police arrived on the scene.
Galvan was arrested for a second-offense DUI, battery and leaving the scene of an accident and cited for numerous traffic misdemeanors and infractions.
