Apartment fire set by child playing with matches

Pocatello police and Fire Department investigators say a child playing with matches caused a fire in an apartment at 1022 E. Poplar Thursday night. They say the child set a mattress on fire.

All members of the household were evacuated and there were no significant injuries. The apartment sustained minimal damage.

Investigation is continuing this morning.
