KXPI to become Fox affiliate on July 1st
Eastern Idaho will not be missing out on NFL football or popular programming of Glee and American Idol after all.
Fox has made a deal with Fisher Communications to broadcast the network programming on KXPI 3.2 beginning July 1 st .
KXPI will remain a My Network TV affiliate and continue to air that network’s programming beginning at 10 p.m.
Managers at KFXP Channel 31, which currently airs the Fox Network, said last month they would drop the Fox network because it was demanding compensation that exceeded the local station’s current revenue for retransmission fees.
KFXP announced this week it will become a This TV Network on July 1 st .
“Fisher is excited to expand its partnership with FOX and to serve the viewers and advertisers of
Idaho Falls-Pocatello with premium programming such as American Idol and NFL football,” said
Rob Dunlop, Executive Vice President of Fisher Communications.
Fisher Communication also operates KIDK-TV 3.1, the CBS affiliate, which is locally managed by NPG of Idaho.
NPG of Idaho also operates KIFI-TV 8.
