Community supports wounded puppy
It’s a story we first brought you in May. A good Samaritan found a border collie puppy that was shot multiple times and left to die in Blackfoot.
That dog, named Angel, is now safe and healthy and has been adopted by the woman who found her.
Blackfoot resident Leslie Schwindt said when she found Angel lying in a ditch, helpless and hurt, she didn’t think twice about taking her to the vet.
Angel’s injuries were so bad, veterinarians had to amputate the puppy’s left rear leg.
Schwindt said the Eastern Idaho community has been very supportive, donating funds to help cover the cost of Angel’s medical bills.
Now, Schwindt said it’s time to thank everyone who has donated, by having a meet and greet at the local PetCo in Idaho Falls Saturday afternoon.
“(I’ve received) more support than I could’ve ever imagined,” said Schwindt. “It’s turned into something bigger. I’ve started the Help An Angel Foundation.”
Schwindt said around $2,000 in donations were turned in to the Blackfoot Animal Clinic.
