Children hurt in mountain crash
Officials in southeastern Idaho say two children were seriously injured when a pickup being readied for mechanical repairs rolled down a mountain east of Pocatello.
Bannock County Sheriff’s Deputy John Underwood says the children were with three adults driving in the mountains Sunday afternoon when a vacuum hose failed in the pickup.
The Idaho State Journal reports the adults were putting the pickup onto blocks to make repairs when it started to roll downhill.
Underwood says an 11-year-old child is believed to have suffered a broken collar bone while a 3-year-old is believed to have suffered internal injuries when he was thrown from the cab of the pickup after a tree tore off one of the doors. Both were being treated at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
