Red Cross needs blood
The Red Cross is in desperate need of more blood.
The bank ran extremely low during the month of June, falling 50,000 short on donations.
Christine Gladstone with the Red Cross in Idaho Falls attributes it to the summer months keeping folks in the region outdoors and pre-occupied.
With Independence Day coming up, employees are trying to get stocks up this week.
They hosted a blood drive on 17th Street Monday, where lots of young people came in to give, but they could still use some more.
“We 100 percent service all of the hospital facilities in Idaho Falls and in southeastern Idaho. So, for instance, if it was you or one of your family members who needed it to keep them alive, would you or would you not consider donating blood? It’s the right thing to do,” said Gladstone.
One pint of blood can save up to three lives.
