Clowns to perform at parade
After overwhelming support and encouragement, Kathy Nave and her clown troupe will be performing in this year’s 4th of July parade in Idaho Falls.
Nave says entertaining spectators in the city’s annual Independence Day Parade is a family tradition, so when the Chamber of Commerce started enforcing its ban on small motorized vehicles, the clown troupe wasn’t allowed to use the golf carts they had been using for the last 29 years.
Nave says with community support, the troupe got their hands on motorized wheelchairs and scooters to help them out.
“It’s just about loving our town, loving the people and celebrating the day and trying to give out joy and love and happiness and that’s all we want to do,” said Nave.
Nave says her children and grandchildren will clown around with her in the parade.
