Nearly 2K acres burn near Bancroft
A fire scorched nearly 2,000 acres between Bancroft and Chesterfield, the East Idaho Interagency Fire Center said.
The human-caused fire started as an agricultural burn, but escaped the boundaries, EIIFC said.
Rodney Roberts told us his mother’s home was threatened, but neighbors built a fire break around it and prevented the fire from reaching it.
Containment was reached at 10 p.m. Friday, but esources are on site Saturday continuing to control the fire, EIIFC said.
The EIIFC urges the public to take precautions during all activities that may involve use of fire, including recreational activities, fireworks, shooting, using equipment, and any debris burning. Please check with local agencies for restrictions on some uses. Please be cautious, it said.
