Man stabbed in armed robbery
An armed robbery resulted in a victim getting stabbed, police said.
Two men were sanding a boat inside a building at 964 Lincoln Road on Monday at 1:30 a.m. when three men entered, demanding money. One suspect was armed with a handgun.
At least one of the victims produced a knife, and a short stand-off ensued.
Details of the fight are not clear at this point, said Sgt. Philip Grimes, but one of the victims ended up getting stabbed in the arm in the fight, and one of the suspects was hit in the head with some sort of club.
The suspect with the gun fired a round into the ceiling to scare the victims.
The alleged robbers fled the area in a vehicle with a small amount of cash, and one of the victims phoned police.
The victim that was stabbed was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery.
The suspect who was hit with the club drove to EIRMC and was treated and released.
Police are not releasing the names of suspects right now, as the case is under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the IFPD at 529-1200 or CrimeStoppers at 522-1983.
