Two men hurt in Pocatello industrial accident
Two men were hurt when a plate of steel fell on them at North Star Fabricators on Garrett Way in Pocatello.
The incident happened about 8:45 a.m. Monday. The workers, who are in their 20s or 30s, were building large mining equipment. They were in the process of rotating and moving a funnel-shaped hopper when they were pinned.
Pocatello Fire Department spokesman Richard Nelson said when emergency crews arrived, the hopper had been lifted, and both men were conscious and breathing.
The men were taken to hospital with serious lower body injuries, said Batallion Chief Kevin Christensen. They are expected to survive.
