Crash blocks road near Lava Hot Springs

Around 3 p.m. on Sunday,the Idaho State Police responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on U.S.Highway 30, east of Lava Hot Springs.

53-year-old Brian Grunigof Pocatello was traveling westboundin a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck, towing a fifth-wheel travel trailer and a utility trailer.

The utility trailer started to fishtail and Grunig lost control of his vehicle. The Ford truck crashed into the guardrail and the truck and fifth-wheel trailer rolled onto the driver’s side.

The utility trailer jackknifed, but stayed upright. Grunig, his wife and two children were wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the crash.

The highway was blocked for two hours and traffic was detoured around the scene via the old Blazer highway.
